Policies and Procedures Manual: Chief of Equipment
CHIEF OF EQUIPMENT
The Chief of Equipment is responsible for the care and maintenance of the SOLO equipment vehicle and all equipment used at CFR/SCCA SOLO Program Events.
The responsibilities of the Chief of Equipment shall include:
Before an event:
MAKE SURE SOMEONE TAKES ALL THE EQUIPMENT TO THE EVENT!
Check that all fire extinguishers are fully charged.
Check that all rechargeable batteries are fully charged.
Check that replaceable batteries are fresh.
Check the function of all electronic equipment:
Timers and trips.
Public Address System.
Check supply of course-marking chalk, flour, etc.
During the event:
Assist in the setup of the PA system, timing, and radio equipment. Check that the equipment works properly.
Be available to repair or replace broken equipment.
Assist in retrieval and storage of all SOLO equipment.
Retrieve all radios, PA, and timing equipment (MAKE SURE THAT ALL EQUIPMENT IS RETURNED!!)
After the event:
Inventory and repair equipment as required.
Recharge depleted batteries (as required by battery type).
Replace any used up or broken equipment.
Arrange recharging of discharged fire extinguishers.
Report to the CFR/SCCA SOLO II Program Chairman:
Fund requests for replacement parts.
Recommendations for new or replacement equipment.
